happy 4th of July!

We kicked off the 4th of July week with the Mustang firework show and SuperFreak concert! We saw them last year and they were awesome again this time! My sister and her new husband and our friend Sam joined us. It was lots of fun!

Then on the 4th we had hamburgers with my family at my parent's house, and then headed over to my cousin's house to celebrate Aden's 4th birthday! Lots of fun with family and friends!!

^^^such a wonderful birthday for a wonderful boy! He is definitely a little firecracker! We love him so much!^^^

You can read about last year's 4th of July here! I hope you all had a safe and fun time with your friends and family celebrating our wonderful country!

here's to 23!

This year for my birthday, we didn't do a whole lot.  I was still sick most days and not feeling very good from all that first trimester fun ;) So the weekend before, Jeremy took me to get a pedicure (that takes on a whole new level of perfection when you're pregnant and you're feet hurt like you never knew they could hurt), and then a little shopping and to dinner at Zio's. Then the night of my birthday, my family went to eat at Fuzzy's downtown for some awesome tacos and the best darn queso that's ever been made. Then headed to the mall for a birthday cookie. (normally I don't even like cookies, but pregnancy makes you do all sorts of strange things.) It was a fun night, and we got some fun pictures that I wanted to share. I have a feeling 23 is going to be the best year yet! Can't believe next year I'll have a six-month-old Maverick in my arms. Can't wait!

My husband is 24... that's old

Jeremy's birthday falls 5 days before Christmas--poor guy. He wouldn't wish that birthday on anyone, and neither would I. It's hard to get anyone together during the midst of all the holiday bustle, and most people are too "partied out" to want to celebrate something else. But he is a great sport about it, and I do everything I can to make his day set apart and special, even though it is 5 days before Christmas.  We started off the birthday celebrations, a few nights early, with dinner at my mom's house with his favorite meal-- fettucini alfredo and garlic bread-- and his favorite dessert-- chocolate cake with a chocolate chip crust. It was a fun night!

For his birthday, I planned an entire day of all of his favorite things, and left him wondering what was on the agenda for the day.  I gave him clues along the way for him to guess where we were going next.  The morning of his birthday, I woke him up with donuts and chocolate milk and his first clue to be ready at noon for lunch.  Instead of boring you with all the clues, I'll just put the day in a nutshell. We went to lunch at Papa Angelos, shoe shopping at Dicks, ice-skating for his first time at Blazer's Ice Rink, Baron's hockey game--where we won a $100 gift card to the Baron's store, and ended the day with Waffle House with some surprise guests, my family. It was a full day, but lots of fun! Jeremy said it was his best birthday yet-- exactly what I was going for! :)

I love celebrating Jeremy, and I'm so thankful for another year of his life! God has been nothing but good to us.
